“Very truly I tell you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be judged but has crossed over FROM DEATH TO LIFE.”
John 5:24
Cory Butler was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, and now lives with his wife of 17 years and their five beautiful daughters in Hannibal, MO.
Cory has had no recent, “official” training on any of the topics that are spoken about in his blog. As a self taught, avid chef, artist and “sort-or-recently-converted-but always-been-saved-but-now-entirely-transformed” disciple of the Christian Bible, the forty-year-old in a battle with anger and pride, founded ‘FROMDEATHTOLIFE.blog’ during a season of deep pain and absolute, newfound honesty. Three hundred miles removed from his family, as alcohol and addiction faded into the past, God placed the burden of teaching and writing on Cory’s heart.
Almost three years later, FROMDEATHTOLIFE.blog is no longer just a journal of penned poems and excited rants, but we are now literally affecting those around us in really exciting and life-changing ways.
I hope this has a profound effect on your world and that you begin to walk in the monumental power of Christ through all situations in your life. May these words be a salve and a relief to those with wounds for which they cannot find a solution.
I encourage you to continue to read each post, and if at any point you have questions about what it takes to follow Jesus — to be Jesus — to a hurting world, message me. I’ll respond as best I know how, in wisdom, meekness and love, to the best of my ability.
Don’t give up. Life is messy.
But it’s worth it.
Thanks for reading.
Sincerely,
Your brother in Christ,
Cory Butler
